What do these historic events have in common?

• The end of apartheid in South Africa with the election of Nelson Mandela (1994);
•  the development of the personal computer (1981);
• riots in Paris that ended with more rights for working people (1968);
• Stalin being denounced in the USSR (1956), thus paving the way for Glasnost/Perestroika;
• and several key battles foreshadowing the end of the 2nd World War (1943):  Russia beat Nazi forces at Stalingrad and Kursk, and Italy was invaded by the Allies?

They all occurred during Jupiter and Pluto conjunctions.  Old structures are toppling, making the way for the new. Looking at these huge changes–ones that turned history for the better– has helped me get perspective on what’s going on in our society and world.  

But in the meantime, whew is it ever intense!

Much-needed relief and expansion

Well, I have some good news for you!  This conjunction is going to bring some much-needed relief.  In place of the limitations and restrictions, in comes the expansive, jovial Jupiter energy bringing in a breath of fresh air.

Every 13 years, expansion, growth and optimism (Jupiter) meets with power, control and intensity (Pluto).  This year, these meetings occur three times– and they’re going to be extra powerful because of some added bonuses: Saturn, the Guardian of the Threshold, is in the mix, providing the structure, boundaries and restrictions necessary to keep you from getting carried away — from pushing too hard too fast, or moving too quickly.

Chariklo is also right in the middle, and will be continuing to provide a strong feminine healing balance. A final bonus is that each conjunction is happening in Capricorn, which is all about being practical, down-to-earth, and getting real.

So what does all this mean for you? 

Jupiter and Pluto meeting together means you are getting the opportunity to germinate the seeds you’ve already sown for this year and this decade.  This event invites deepening growth – digging into the roots to discover what truly matters.

This first conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto occurs on April 4/5 (depending on your time zone). It’s time to strip down to core beliefs so you can do the deep work necessary to take your next steps. This is the time for the seeds you have sown to crack open and begin to push to the surface.  It will regenerate your vision for possibility. The second conjunction, in June, will be a time to revise, and the third, in November, will help you integrate.

As you can see from what’s happened in history at Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions in just the last seventy-seven years, we are in the midst of a time of great change.  Remember: “as above, so below.” At the collective level, these energies are continuing to support the collapse of the old to make way for the new, and people rising up to work together for change at the collective level.

A time of opportunity

At the individual level, it is a time of opportunity: to generate new visions; ability to make changes and improvements; support to fulfill your deepest desires; support for taking concrete steps to improve your life so you can be in service to others.
